Artist Bio

Dianna Bartel (b. St. Louis, Mo.) is a Lenexa, Kansas based artist intent on pursuing the intersection of art and joy. With a distinctive style, her oil and acrylic paintings capture the essence of the contemporary landscape, distilling the complexity of the natural world into simple shapes, dynamic movement, and vibrant color. With a bachelors degree and experience in arts and museum education and a masters degree in adult and continuing education she understands that art is a powerful tool for self-expression, personal exploration, and connection with the world around you. She aims to provide experiences with her work that encourages individuals to discover their own creative voice, and appreciate the beauty and meaning found in the natural world. Her work has been showcased at events such as the Symphony in the Flint Hills as well as galleries across Kansas and Montana.  

From the rugged peaks of the Montana mountains to the endless horizons of the prairie, Dianna’s work celebrates the diversity and magnificence of the natural world. She finds inspiration in the wide open space of the Kansas prairie and the ever-changing play of light and shadow in the drama of the sky. Through her art, she strives to instill a sense of wonder and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us as a testament to the profound connection between humanity and the natural world.
